Dan Kayser has been my physical therapist for the last four years.  During that time I have had a near death experience with Congestive Heart Failure, lost 25 pounds and thought I’d lost most of my physical capabilities in the process.  Working with the medical team and with Dan, I not only revived my body to the healthy state it is in now, but my muscle systems work unbelievably well.  His accumulated knowledge of muscles and connective tissues is possibly the finest I’ve seen in the 25 years that I’ve enlisted the aid of a physical therapist.  His unique ability to isolate individual and combinations of muscle systems is uncanny. His health issue recommendations, particularly diet and supplements, have proven to be correct. I've been training with Dan for over a year and a half now. With his help I lost over 170 pounds and feel healthier and stronger than I ever have.  I've worked out with several different trainers in the past but Dan is by far the best trainer I've ever had. He knows exactly how to motivate me and gets me to push myself to do more just when I think I can't.

I never thought I could actually have fun while still doing an intense workout, but with kettlebells, there are so many possible exercises that you'll never get bored with your workout. If it wasn't for Dan and his awesome Kettlebell workouts, I'd still be overweight, unhealthy and unhappy. Having Dan as my trainers is the best decision I've ever made!

I have been training with Dan since September 2011 and since then, I have seen improvements in all aspects of my life. I lost three inches from my waist and have never felt stronger or healthier . For the past 5-6 years, I had major back problems and now I hardly ever visit my doctor or massage therapist. My golf game has also improved tremendously because I am now able to hit the ball twenty yards farther. Three years ago, I had a traumatic fall on the first day of my summer vacation.  Suffering from multiple injuries including a broken ankle, I went through physical therapy sessions,  prescription painkillers, and knee surgery.   Yet, I did not resume the workouts, yoga and walks that I enjoyed due to the chronic pain I had from simply walking that continued despite the medical therapy.  My weight began to creep upwards as my self-worth and spirits declined.  I knew I needed to do something to break the cycle of pain.

I was referred to Dan Kayser by both my acupuncturist and my chiropractor as someone who could help me by designing a personalized exercise program tailored to my unique needs using kettlebells, resistance bands and yoga stretches.  I worked w/Dan for almost a year and a half, seeing him twice weekly.  It was one of the  most important decisions I made in my life.

Danʻs expertise and knowledge in physiology amazed me as he adapted workouts to what my body needed.  He knew how to tweak an exercise if I had an injury, and did on-the-spot analysis of why something hurt or what kind of correction needed to be made if I didnʻt perform the exercise correctly. 

As a teacher, I appreciated Danʻs encouraging and sensitive manner as a personal trainer.  He is patient as he instructs and corrects what you do in a firm but gentle way, accented by his sense of humor. I now feel  stronger and more confident  about my balance and strength.  I am also more aware about my posture and how to follow through on daily exercises at home.  As I look back and see the progress that I  made in working with him, I appreciate what I learned and can use in the future to care for myself.  Mahalo, Dan!
