Personal Training / Human Biomechanics
Biomechanics is a study of the movement of a living body and the impact of external forces such as gravity or weights in resistance training on our musculoskeletal systems. This program is designed for individuals looking to get out of pain or enhance their performance and productivity in all aspects of their lives. Biomechanics provides key information on the most effective and safest movement patterns, equipment, and relevant exercises to improve human movement.
Sports Specific Strength & Conditioning
This program is designed for any athlete to excel in a specific area of their sport. For instance a soccer goalie has to prepare differently from a forward, or a defender on the same team. Needless to say a soccer player’s requirements are way different from a football player’s or that of a swimmer’s. There’s a specific load that is placed on their bodies in order for them to perform a particular task. In this program we will design a plan for your exact requirements as an athlete, as well as provide you with a proactive approach to injury prevention specific to your sport. A wrestler would need to spend a lot more time on neck strengthening exercises than a swimmer would.
MMA Conditioning
This is a 6 - 8 week strength and conditioning program tailored for each particular combat sport such as MMA, Muay Thai, BJJ, Boxing, and Wrestling. It's designed to facilitate training for a specific number of rounds, minutes per round, rest time in between and desired weight cut for each individual camp. The goal is to help a fighter reach peak level of performance on fight night. This program utilizes proven training techniques from around the world including the "training for warriors" method created by Martin Rooney, Renso Gracie's strength and conditioning coach as well as Phil Daru’s strength methods for the American Top Team.
Golf Mechanics and Power
This class is all about generating speed and power for rotational sports while maintaining proper integrity of the spine in order to avoid pain, discomfort and injuries. We’ll be focussing on hip explosiveness for greater driving distances. Proper transfer of energy, horizontally from back leg to the front. Proper thoracic spine (mid back) rotation and lumbar spine (lower back) stability. Optimal range of motion (ROM) of lower and upper extremities as well as exercises for proper internal rotation of the lead shoulder in order to achieve longer driving distances. Focusing on dynamic balances, riding equilibrium and stability training will result in much more controlled and precise short game. Golf specific yoga routines will not only help with flexibility of your muscles but aid greatly in mental strength and focus; especially for the back 9 holes.
Ocean Sports
Whether you like to surf, swim, sup, kite surf, you name it, all the ocean sports have one huge difference from the land sports. Can you guess what that is? ? Exactly! Everything changes when you go from stable surfaces on land to the unstable ones. Your core has to work harder, your riding balance and equilibrium has to be enhanced. Because of the unnatural foot stance in comparison to walking and running (our primal human movement pattern) muscles of the feet and legs have to fire differently and will cause discomfort on land after years and years of repetitive motions. All these imbalances have to be addressed so that you can continue your water sports well into your silver years while experiencing no pain or discomfort in other areas of life.
Running Mechanics and Fitness
This class focuses on proper running mechanics. First of all we will analyze your gait cycle based on your current running mechanics and offer corrective exercises to improve posture, feet planting and striking, alignment and stability of both hips and shoulders, breathing, warmup and cooldown routines and most importantly...
When generating power while in motion, a runner must be able to transfer all that power from their bodies through the big toe into the ground. When you think about it, the big toe is the last part of the body to leave the ground while in motion. If the toe happens to be the weakest link in the kinetic chain, not only will the runner lack in performance, but damage to the foot and ankle will inevitably set in with each and every step the runner takes in his or her lifetime.
Functional Movement Screen
FMS is a diagnostic tool that we use to analyze the way a person moves. It reveals all types of imbalances that restrict and inhibit our movement patterns and hold us back from optimal health and well-being. This assessment is self limiting in the sense that you cannot cheat proper mechanics, either you have them or you don't. Identifying these flaws gives us a blueprint aiding us in designing a completely personalized program tailor made for your specific body needs. Having proper biomechanics not only enhances your athletic performance, but more importantly, ensures against potential onset of injuries.
Your screen will be recorded and reviewed thoroughly prior to a personalized program design. For optimal results, the screen should be performed quarterly, in order to gauge your progress and update your exercise routine.
Yoga
Yoga is utilized in every single program at Kayser Fitness Institute! This particular class is heavily influenced by the traditional Ashtanga Yoga system developed for the one and only Pattabhi Jois. Though we won't be following the three sequences in the exact order, the integrity of Ashtanga will be preserved by performing vinyasa (salutations) following most asana (poses or positions). This class is designed for individuals looking to deepen their metaphysical yoga practice by strengthening the flow of chi through the use of ujjayi breath, mula, uddiyana, jalandhara, and maha bandhas.
In 2019, after going to India and Indonesia to study a Himolayan Yoga for Manifestation, developed by Grand Master Akshar, Dan Kayser was given permission by Master Sri Arkashana to incorporate this style of yoga into his already versatile system. We can now strengthen the mind and the body to manifest through movement.
Kettlebells fundamentals, intermediate, advanced lifts
Intro to kettlebells --- will cover 3 primary pillars of kettlebell training that comprise the foundation onto which all subsequent lifts are built upon. These lifts include unilateral and bilateral kettlebell press from rack position, goblet and other squat variations, and the swing. “In this day and age anyone can buy a kettlebell and start swinging but there's a huge difference between swinging a kettlebell and the kettlebell swing!”
Intermediate Kettlebell class will focus on many variations of olympic lifts such as clean and jerk and snatch. These two are some of the most technical weightlifting exercises on planet earth and will take your strength to a whole new level. Because these lifts strengthen the communication between your central nervous system and the brain, you’ll breathe through plateaus in any strength training program that incorporates these particular moves.
Kettlebell Mastery class will teach you how to fix muscular imbalances using a kettlebell. Turkish get ups, windmills, and all multi plane movements (everything that makes us human) will be mastered along with olympic lifts and all other bollystic kettlebell moves. Kettlebell mastery will not only save you time, it will save your body and allow you to do whatever you want in life with minimal equipment and maximal enjoyment.
